We live in a time when digital devices and technologies are quickly and aggressively defining and redefining our culture, our households, and our relationships, with and without our knowledge or consent. They affect everything about our lives: individual households and relationships; shared resources like water, food, and fuel; global economies and political power; even the ways we parent, educate, and play with our kids. People respond to this in many different ways – with excitement, with confusion, with fear.

Throughout the Fall, St. John’s Adult Forum will be exploring topics that examine our interactions with technology through a Christian lens, posing questions to help us discern and navigate the changes these technologies are effecting in our lives. What does it mean to be a human being and a friend? How have Christian communities responded to seismic technological shifts in the past? What do theology and scripture have to say about technology? What about AI? And finally, what can we do, both individually and together at St. John’s, to meet these challenges with wisdom, courage, hope, and love as faithful followers of Christ?
