The 8th Century Hebrew Prophets: God Speaks to Ancient Israel and to Christians TodayOur Wednesday night Lenten series this year will focus on the 8th century Hebrew prophets – Amos, Hosea, Isaiah and Micah. These classical prophets fiercely critiqued the social ills of their day – economic injustice, oppression of the poor, spiritual adultery and unfaithfulness to God. We will dig deep to study and discuss their writings, and explore how their message may resonate with followers of Christ in our time and place. How can we respond to God’s requirement to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God”? (Micah 6:8)
Judd Anderson and Mark Schlichter will lead the Lenten series on Wednesdays 5:30 to 7:30pm from February 25th to March 25th. Each evening begins with a simple supper and ends with the Eucahrist. Childcare is provided.
