The 40 days of Lent recall both Christ’s 40 days in the Wilderness after his Baptism and the 40 years that the Israelites spent in the Wilderness between escaping slavery in Egypt and entering the Promised Land. In this series, we will live into the theme of Lent by exploring what it means for us to be Citizens of Heaven living in Exile here in this life. We’ll look at how and where we experience that exile most deeply and how our identity as exiles might be a foundation for Christians living in a broken world.
