Colossians 2:6-7: As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
St. John’s Vacation Bible Camp sign-up is officially launched! Can I get a woo-woo?! Our theme this year is “Rooted in Christ.” Using our key verse (Col. 2:6-7) as well as unique supporting scripture each day, we will explore what it means to be followers of Jesus. Together we will discern how to draw nourishment from our Heavenly Father, live by His example, and give glory to Him in all we do.
Daily Overview
We start each day with a morning meeting to greet one another, worship, pray, and give thanks for those campers who showed the “Fruits of the Spirit” the day before.
Next, we break into small groups for faith-based lessons designed to keep kids engaged and learning with lessons tailored to different age levels. Mr. Ben, our music director, guides campers to learn fun and beautiful songs that relate to our theme. Campers are invited to the Family Night Jamboree as well as the Sunday 10am service to sing these songs for their families and St. John’s parishioners. Mr. Ben also takes one day to play interactive drumming games with the campers to teach rhythm and musical collaboration.
We come back together as a whole group to participate in an activity related to the daily theme, which typically includes arts & crafts, classic camp games, building challenges, community service, and more!
Finally, after a recess and recreation time, campers conclude each day by breaking bread together, taking turns at serving one another at lunch. We wrap up on Friday with a goodbye pizza & ice cream party to celebrate all the friendships we’ve made and strengthened.
How can I sign up?
This camp is open to all children aged 4-12, so please feel welcome to sign up even if you’ve never attended St. John’s—and invite your friends! We also welcome kids 13+ to join us as Junior Counselors. And adults, if you’re feeling left out of all this fun—don’t! We’d love to have you as a volunteer any or all of the days of VBC! We have several different options for volunteering, which you can read about on the sign-up form below.
